Hello, my lovely readers! Today, I would like to introduce you to the cast members of my upcoming series of short ads to advertise my books.
Now, because Lost in Fondant and the whole Murray Hill Tales series is based around Halloween (my favorite holiday), I decided to incorporate my Halloween creatures into the advertising, as well as using all the spooky props I had laying around my house anyway.
Hey, times are tough, I’m an indie author, and I gotta’ work with what I have.
So let’s get to it!
The tall guy in the back is Eddie. He came with wings, though he fancies himself as The Grim Reaper. Which works perfect for my needs, so I can handle his method acting.
The shy guy waaayy in the back is Casper. Don’t be fooled by his chains, he is a friendly ghost.
The lovely lady next to Eddie is my dear, sweet Lily. She’s a stylish lady, and you’ll see her in many fun outfits.
The adorable little girl in front is Dahlia. She doesn’t say much.
Anyway, so now you’ve met the crew. I’ll be shooting the ads using an iPhone 14 and slowly plunking through video editing using either Canva or Adobe. I’m not exactly a professional video editor, but this whole self-publishing process is about learning new things, right?
Which, in my opinion, is far better than relying on AI to generate something only vaguely resembling what I want to convey. The ads I make might be shit. But they’re going to be real.
